Transformers News Days Like Today Remind Me That Life is Great and The World is F***ing Fantasic

Mondays usually come with unexpected new events for people tackling the week ahead. For fans of Transformers, today was an especially surprising day.

The availability of Transformers: Age of Extinction action figures was already on collectors’ radars like drug fiends getting ready for a new supply of that good stuff, as Amazon and other online retailers made ready action figures from the upcoming blockbuster. Nevermind the various reports of Target employees not giving a hot damn about street dates.

What we did not expect, however, was the article by USA Today containing new public relations hype information and some amazing press images stills from the upcoming film. Fans also got a glimpse of the newest poster from the film, which is Optimus Prime riding a goddamn robot dinosaur. Does Wolverine fight giant robot dinosaurs? Did Spider-Man have any robot animals other than Paul Giammati phoning it in from the rhino suit scene that we’ve seen in every commercial for the past six months? No, and Michael Bay will take your money and make more robot dinosaurs for you to be amazed by.

As the day went on, news went out of the release date for the next trailer for AOE–this Thursday, May 15. And just as the day was winding down and you were cleaning your pants because holy shit how can today get any better, viewers of NBC’s The Voice told their boyfriends that there were robot dinosaurs on the TV.

And in case you’re wondering why else I have saliva all over my keyboard, IDW released a preview of this week’s Transformers: More Than Meets The Eye by James Roberts and Alex Milne, a book I lovingly refer to as Better Than The Bible.

Transformers: Age of Extinction is in theaters and IMAX June 27, 2014.
